The "Edge Computing Industry panoramic (2022)" is a revolutionary panoramic released jointly by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT). The map aims to showcase the different aspects of industry development, clarify the development context, and provide new momentum for the integrated development of cloud-edge-terminal in the next stage. The 2022 edition of the map covers eight major sectors, including edge security, edge applications/solutions, edge software/tools/services, edge cloud, IoT edge computing, and edge hardware. Each sector includes representative enterprises that lead in technology, products, and services.

On June 14, the "2022 Cloud-Edge Collaboration Conference" was held online, jointly organized by CAICT and the China Communications Standards Association. During the conference, CAICT officially released the latest research results, including the "Edge Computing Market and User Insights Report (2022)", the "Edge Computing Industry Panorama (2022)", and the "Integrated Development Report of Cloud-Edge-Terminal (2022)".

The "Edge Computing Industry Panorama (2022)" is the first panoramic with edge computing as its core theme in the industry. It was developed through rigorous expert reviews, practical investigations, and testing evaluations. CypressTel, with its technological innovation and outstanding market performance in edge computing, has successfully been included in the first industry panorama with edge computing as its core theme, making it one of the representative companies in the edge industry.

According to CAICT's survey data, the size of China's edge computing market reached 43.64 billion yuan in 2021, and it is expected to grow at an average annual rate of over 50% in the next three years. By 2024, the overall size of the edge computing market is projected to reach 180.37 billion yuan. Meanwhile, the "14th Five-Year Plan" clearly states the need for "coordinated development of cloud services and edge computing services," and the State Council's "14th Five-Year Plan for Digital Economy Development" emphasizes the strengthening of edge computing capabilities for specific scenarios. This indicates the vast growth potential of edge computing.

With the deepening of enterprise digital transformation and the continuous development of edge computing, traditional IT architectures are no longer sufficient to meet the needs of business development. In this era of rapid internet development, enterprises face various challenges, such as complex network operations and maintenance, lengthy opening cycles for new branches, the need for multiple applications in edge branches and urgent performance improvements, distributed employee authentication and authorization management in remote branches, visitor Wi-Fi authentication and management, as well as advertising content distribution and real-time updates.

CypressTel's OneWAN (Edge) product, based on self-developed SD-WAN technology and combined with container K8S and cloud CMP capabilities, enables unified application deployment and rapid delivery across cloud, network, edge, and terminal. Currently, it offers targeted content distribution, unified Wi-Fi authentication, distributed employee authentication, and authorization management for the retail industry. It achieves unified scheduling, rapid deployment, and efficient provisioning for Wi-Fi management, advertising playback, and employee authentication/authorization in retail stores, significantly reducing authentication time. It also improves the updating and distribution of advertisements in stores, reducing the pressure on cloud-based advertisement distribution. All stores retrieve advertisement content locally from OneWAN(Edge) devices, which are mutually backed up and flexibly scheduled, reducing the direct pressure of retrieving advertisements from the cloud.

Furthermore, leveraging the security capabilities of OneWAN(Edge) devices and combining them with CypressTel's OneSec (SASE) capabilities, it provides unified security capabilities for enterprises with multiple branches and weak security requirements, applicable to various industries such as high-end manufacturing, automotive, electronics, healthcare, retail, logistics, and finance, which have global network and security needs.

CypressTel, with its years of research and development capabilities in self-developed SD-WAN, mature CMP multi-cloud management, and service capabilities, continues to optimize and enhance SD-WAN, edge device computing capabilities, as well as integrating security technologies and service capabilities. It collaborates with industry ecosystem partners to promote the vigorous development of the edge computing industry and accelerate the progress of 5G in industry digital transformation.
